Hi, it's Hidamari.

I wondered if I hadn't introduce myself to you guys officially.
So please let me introduce myself.

I am Hidamari who runs Hidamari cooking on youtube channel.
Thanks to you all, now subscribers have reached to 2 million people.
Thank you so much for your support as always.

When I first created this channel, I had never imagined it would be seen by so many people like now.

That is because, first of all, Hidamari cooking has started with my personal thoughts such as, making elaborate sweets, share them with your loved ones or by yourself, and videos of recipe that makes you want to pass down to your children and grandchildren and not only fun to watch but also fun to make and eat. 

So, I was thinking like "that would be nice if some of those sweets lover watch it ".                 
But, now that so many people are watching my channel, this is thanks to your loving support.Thank you always for the comments and share as well.

You might have thought maybe I have always been making sweets since I was young, which makes you wonder I am good at it?

Actually, I started making sweets seriously is after I had started my youtube channel. 
But I have always loved making things by hand.

For example, I have loved making beads accessory.
I've liked so much of sparkling and shining like jewels, and just gazing at them makes me feeling happy somehow, imaging what i can make next time.
Anyways, I have really  loved making things by hand.

However, I grew up poor, I had to make beads accessories in limited number of beads by making it and break it down after, again and again.

Even though it was limited, it was so much fun.
But, sometimes I couldn't help thinking how much I would be happy if I had uncountable beads to make.

One time, I really really wanted new beads. I struggled thinking for many hours which I should buy either "1 bead is 10 yen " or "1 bead is 50 yen". (roughly 1 yen = 1 cent)

I had 100 yen in my hand.
I could buy 10 beads if I chose the cheaper ones with my money.
But what I really wanted was bigger 50 yen beads.

I was like hmm, "but I can only buy 2 beads with my money" "Ah! what am I gonna do!!!".
( I told my husband about this, he smiled saying "you sound like you're cute girl"
  Well... I was a girl, an ordinally one.. lol)

So things like that, anyhow I loved beads.
I made bracelet and necklace and put them in a special box preciously looking at them and sorting them by color, and sometimes putting them on myself etc,

Other people must have thought like "how can you do that kind of things for a few hours long?"  Well that much, I was into it.

One day, it was my friend's birthday, so I wrap up my favorite bracelet with a beautiful wrapping paper and gave it to her as a birthday gift. 

When I gave it to her she seemed to be so happy, but then a few days later, 
she was bragging about the bracelet to her friends saying she made it.
I felt disappointed because It was me who made it....
(Now that looking back then, I guess she was just simply too happy with the bracelet)

Other than making beads accessory, I used to make models of house with a paper, make a lampshade out of clay and make flowers with Origami. I truly loved making things by my hands.

Since I became an adult, I have worked at bakerly 
When I was a child, it was only fun to make but since becoming an adult, the new point of view has arrived to me that, how I can make customers happy with the products.

So, at the bakery where I was working, I was thinking like "This place, there comes many salarymen so that would be nice if they could eat delicious bread and feel better".
And, "They would feel happy if they had more choices of breads".
I was always wondering "if I make those breads they can enjoy them freel."

Soon after that, my husband told me that we would move to somewhere else, 
so I quit my job and followed him until here.

There is no hiring, no place to work just a few buses running in one day, which is super countryside.

And top of that, he said he wouldn't buy a car. 
So I needed to figure it out to work at home, and that was a Youtube.

If I do a Youtube, I want to do something new!

I have determined not to just make sweets, but to make something I really devote myself in, and something special attention is paid to!!

That is how I have started making sweets and opened up Hidamari cooking channel.

Hidamari cooking has been focusing on the raw ingredients, the looks and of course the taste itself as well.
Not only I think it's delicious but I make those my husband would like. 

I see many other sweets made by different people,

Hm, so next time I mix them up and make " something like this cake ! "
Then I think of recipe how it should be.... wrapping cakes like this…

I am thinking about these all day long,  a morning to an evening. 

Since I was a little, I liked to imagine  like if I made this, it would be fun?
And, I actually liked moving my hands that still has been continuing. 

Sometimes depending on the day but, things get so interesting then I stay up late like 4 am in the morning, thinking of new ideas, such as " isn't this better ? "

I know I should be in bed and sleep but, more than that, I have huge passion toward making sweets which I can't sleep.
( After all, I tend to take a nap in the next day time though.lol )

This much I love to think of sweets, and devote myself to the videos.

It usually takes for 2 days to create one video and if its taste or its looks became a different one from I had imagined, I turn it down.

I start over from zero and film it again, I try to make sweets and a video that are satisfyingly good. 

Recently, I also focus on plates and those stuff.
I order them from different places in Japan, or I even go to a shop myself,  and touch and feel them so that I get to choose ones that makes me feel comfortable. 

Why I am committed to it this much is, 
I, myself think that there couldn't be any better than enjoying a simple conversation, while you enjoy your favorite piece of cake in a warm floating ambience with your loved one, using your favorite plate,folks, cup, table and chair. 

This is the starting point that I would love to deliver to the generations of my children and grandchildren.

That is why, I also focus on many other things than just on cakes. 

I have thought before, that would be good enough already, if there are a few people who are interested in making sweets and watch my videos sometimes or I just enjoy making my 
speciality sweets and share them with my husband or my friends.

This already makes me happy enough, 
but from now on, I will be starting something new.

In details, 
I'm thinking to open my cafe, and selling cakes on online and also start cooking class.

Thanks to you, the more there are subscribers as, 100, 10000, 100 thousand and 1 million people, the more I've gotten inquiries of starting my cafe,  an online shop and cooking class. 

Although I had never thought to be doing any of these, 
I love making sweets, eating them and spend a good time together.
( I am not great at talking a lot but like to listen to people while everyone is talking to each other. )

So, if I do all of them that I mentioned, I can share the feeling of enjoyment and  happiness together. I thought that must be amazing!

For example, a cafe, 
There will be the air carr
ied to every corner in the cafe, you will hear the birds singing and the sunlight comes in, 

You will also see an ocean and a mountain far away smelling the very fresh grinded coffee beans in the air

I will put a nice music that will make you feel at ease and relax naturally 

There will be an antique table and comfortable touch of sofa and cushion.
Just being there take you to the happiest place somehow

I will be so happy if I could just eating cakes with my loved ones talking casually about something, saying like " this is so good~! ", " feeling at ease isn't it~! " or like "hmm feeling so nice " while we enjoy my dedicated sweets that are good but also looks nice made with those selected from raw ingredients through the best of best, 

And these make you feel like it's nice and warm feeling as if you're covered by the sunlight 
if you gus say to me "I'll come around again"
I could not be any happier. 

( I'm just imagining it right now as I'm writing this, thinking it would be so nice if dream comes true, just makes me feel I'm on cloud. )

Due to of the location, there will be many people who can't actually come.
In that case, I will be happy if eating my piece of cake at your place makes you feel happy and at ease as same feeling as coming to my cafe. 

And, cooking all together at my cooking class would be so much fun as well.

I wish I could make them happen right away, but in fact, thinking of time and cost besides I will need those team members who will help me doing these. 

So, of course I will continue my Youtube channel as before, I will be moving into action to come closer to my dream little by little.

And, I would love to have more and more of team members who want to cheer up Hidamari cooking together !

I am so happy with the fact you watch my Youtube videos, but my goals are that I would love to run my cafe together or make cakes for online shipping. 

I can't say exactly all the details now yet, 
I will do my best. I would be very thankful if you guys send me love and support.

Through Hidamari cooking I would love you all to enjoy in a various ways.

Almost two decades ago, my wife went to see Nishiki Market when I was appearing at Minamiza.
While she was looking at many tempting things in the market, our daughter sticked her tiny index finger in raw “fu”; a bar made of wheat gluten sold in asmall shop.
Upset seeing la tiny hole in the bar, my wife apologized to a lady in the shop and bought it home.
Since then, with all her apology from her heart, she buys dried “fu” shaped in various seasonal decorations at the shop, whenever she comes to Kyoto.
The lady never knows it, though.
Those of Monnosuke’s crest “Momoji” and plum blossoms for “ozoni”; a traditional Japanese soup with rice cakes we eat in New Years.
Aren’t they cute?
Those designs make us realize New Year is coming.
